I just spent the morning writing a lot about money and materialism, but I’m scrapping all of that. Because the message here is and should be simple. The most important things in life are free.
A hug from a loved one. Laughter of a friend. A thank you from a neighbor. Those are things you cannot buy with money. A beautiful sunrise. A cool breeze on a summer night. Shimmering moonlight on the ocean waves. Mother Nature offers us gifts without asking for anything in return.
Like I said in yesterday’s post, if we take the time to care for yourself, you can appreciate and enjoy your life anywhere. Yes, we absolutely need money to meet our basic needs, like food, shelter, and health. I’m not denying that. But if we focus too much on money, we forget how abundant we already are. Our job here on Earth isn’t earning money for mere survival. Our job is to enjoy living, wherever you find yourself at the moment.
